Wayne Township Historical Society is a 501 (3) (C) non profit organization that is currently active and planning various activities and projects.

Our organization meets the second Thursday, 7PM, each month at the Wayne Township Municipal Building located at the intersection of Rte 183 S and Municipal Rd.  You need not be a resident of the township to join, everyone is welcome.

Geographically Wayne Township is located in the east central portion of Pennsylvania.  Our southern border, shared with the northern border of Berks County also lies parallel to the Appalachian Trail.  Our history and settlement occurred in the 1700s.  Brave and adventurous families in search of new land, crossed the Blue Mountains, part of the Appalachian chain, into a new and fertile valley referred to as "the land north of the mountain".  This land was rich with hardwood, pine and hemlock forests which provided excellent material for building log cabins and stockades. These structures provided protection from marauding Indians, for this was the time of  the French and Indian War.

Our motto, or calling card from the start, ‘COME JOIN US’ is an appeal to all individuals, young and old who are concerned and interested in preserving our rich history.
